About Us

Who We Are

CEPA Lab is a citizen science initiative developed and implemented by the Lassana Kolonnawa Youth Network, with funding support from the UNDP GEF Small Grants Programme. We are dedicated to making science accessible to communities, empowering individuals to monitor and protect their local wetlands through low-cost tools, open data, and engaging educational resources.

Our Vision

Building a Global Movement for Citizen Science and Wetland Conservation

At CEPA Lab, we envision a future where citizen science is at the heart of environmental action. Our goal is to grow beyond a single toolkit—creating a full ecosystem of tools and educational resources that empower individuals and communities to better understand, protect, and restore nature.

Our Mission

Empowering Communities Through Citizen Science

Our mission is to promote wetland conservation and environmental stewardship by equipping communities with the knowledge and tools they need to monitor water quality, understand ecosystem health, and take informed action. Through CEPA—Communication, Education, Participation, and Awareness—we aim to bridge the gap between science and society.
